Apple granted preliminary injunction against Samsung Galaxy Nexus sales in U.S.

On Saturday, June 30th, 2012

According to a report from Reuters, U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh has granted Apple a preliminary injunction that bans the sale of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone in the United States. This news comes just days after the same judge granted Apple an injunction against the Samsung Galaxy Tab.

This new injunction will go into place as soon as Apple posts the $95 million that would be payed to Samsung should the ban be reversed.

“Apple has made a clear showing that, in the absence of a preliminary injunction, it is likely to lose substantial market share in the smartphone market and to lose substantial downstream sales of future smartphone purchases and tag-along products,” Judge Koh said in Friday’s ruling.
