Nokia C1-01: Basic entry-level Mobile Phone

The Nokia C1-01 is a basic entry-level mobile phone that’s very affordable, and yet it can still give the user many features that one would love to find in their mobile phones. Getting into the details-Nokia C1-01 is a 78.8g, light weighing mobile phone running 108x45x14 mm in size. The unit is encased in black plastic, with a 1.8-inch TFT color display above a standard T9 keypad. What’s even better is that it is very lightweight at 78.8 grams.

Light weighed, simple and being user friendly are the regular characteristic of Nokia phones. After a little break Nokia has launched the C1-01, a compact budget phone that can easily slip into our pockets.

It has a regular keypad with polished and curvy exteriors and is available in blue, grey and red colors. Also it has a five way navigation button, menu and send or end keys. The device is enhanced with customizable profiles which are more appealing to view from the 1.8 inch display at a resolution of 120×160 pixels.

The C1-01 operates using the dual band frequency (EGSM 850/1900) and can transfer data using GPRS class-B. Also data transfers are facilitated with Bluetooth and full speed USB2.0 port. Email and text messaging are as usual like any other basic models of Nokia, while web browsing is powered by Opera Miniwhich provides support for HTML, CSS and Javascript.

Nokia C1-01 runs on the Symbian 40 platform and updates through FOTA. Multimedia enhancements are compromised as it only bears a VGA camera for photos and videos supporting 3GP format, MP3 player, stereo FM, and basic games. The storage of the device is pretty descent allowing 1000 contact entries and has a 32GB expandable memory card slot for file storage.

The device is backed with the default BL-5C 1020mAh battery and is built for energy efficiency with eco-friendly materials making it a neat and budget fit mobile phone.

The handset has a built-in 0.3-megapixel VGA camera without flash, digital zoom or autofocus. Users can practically store unlimited photos in the expandable memory of up to 32 GB through the micro SD card slot, in addition to the internal memory of 64MB. Nokia C1-01 users can enjoy music using the FM radio, and can connect with others through USB and Bluetooth. The unit is operated by a standard Li-Ion battery, with stand by time of up to 504 hours and talk time up to 10 hours and 40 minutes.

Those are the good of the Nokia C1-01. What about the bad?

Obviously, the Nokia C1-01 is small. Since it’s EDGE 2G speeds its not so fast but considering the price well it’s fair. Youtube support isn’t there. It has a small screen but with t9 you can text. No touch screen as well. The internal memory space is small a paltry 10mb… No wifi nor GPS. At its price you can’t expect more!
