Hot on the heels of Google’s announcement of Android Wear, details of the first devices to be powered by the platform have begun to trickle out.

First up is Motorola with its Moto 360 smartwatch. The device features a round face, unlike most other smartwatches that have square fronts, as well as a body that Motorola says is made of “premium materials.” Since it’s powered by Android Wear, the Moto 360 will be capable of displaying alerts for emails, calls and meetings, and it’ll also support the “Ok Google” voice command for performing searches.

Motorola says that the Moto 360 will be available in a number of styles when it launches globally in the summer of 2014. The device is expected to debut first in the U.S.

Meanwhile, LG took to its official blog today to reveal the G Watch. LG says that it’s “one of Google’s lead partners” in the Android Wear effort, and as a result, it’s been working closely with Google to make sure that the G Watch works well with the Android Wear platform.

Spec details for the G Watch are expected to be announced in the coming months, but LG does say that the device will support voice commands like “Ok Google” and that it will play nicely with many different Android phones. The company also promises that the G Watch will offer “the best Google experience for users” when it launches in the second quarter of 2014.

Both the Moto 360 and LG G Watch are interesting first Android Wear efforts. Motorola’s offering is likely to garner quite a bit of attention for its design, including that round face, and because of the company’s history with smartphone hardware. Meanwhile, the LG G Watch is sure to get plenty of attention of its own because of LG’s statements that it’s been “working closely” with Google on the device. The good news is that we don’t have to wait long to get these two watches on our wrists and see which one is the better wearable.

Based on what we’ve seen of the Moto 360 and LG G Watch so far, which of these two Android Wear-powered products do you think looks better?
